Fifty Ramstein Middle School students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society on May 5 during a ceremony recognizing academic excellence, leadership, service, citizenship and character.
The event, held on campus and attended by families, faculty and community members, was led by NJHS President Logan Dysinger and chapter officers: Elliott Banks, vice president; Veronica Newell, secretary; Sarah Carlson, community service chair; Arabella Orellana, historian; and Xavier Kuczynski, who participated in the presentation of NJHS’s five pillars.
A highlight of the ceremony was a keynote speech by Cooper Yost, an eighth-grade NJHS member and recipient of the 2025 NJHS Achievement Award. Yost creatively compared the values of the organization to the game of baseball, encouraging new members to “step up to the plate” and strive for growth rather than perfection.
“Tonight, as we are called to join NJHS, we are not being handed a trophy. We are being given a jersey,” Yost said. “And with it comes a challenge: to play the game the right way — not perfectly, but with heart, with hustle and with honor.”
Following the speech, Dysinger led the new inductees in the NJHS pledge, affirming their commitment to uphold the organization’s standards.
The ceremony concluded with remarks from Assistant Principal Dr. Dansby-Clark, who congratulated the students and encouraged them to lead with integrity and compassion.
Ramstein Middle School officials said they look forward to the continued leadership and service of the newest NJHS members.
